Try deleting the account and setup a new one using IMAP type not Hotmail type , this is working for me .....
see this thread for settings
New Outlook.com and Windows Essentials Live Mail (WLM)
Thanks for the reply.
I wish to keep Live Mail due to the abundance of folder settings.
When the Inbox disappeared, did it take all the current email messages with it? Any way to get them back? The archived messages are still where they are supposed to be, and all older messages (older than 7 days) have been archived.
Thanks.
Right click on the Email Account and select "Show or hide Folders..." to make sure that you did not hide it by accident.
Normally, Email Messages are stored with extension .eml under:
C:\Users\ logon \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Email Account
You can check if they are still there.
You can not Show and Hide Folders unless the Account is Setup as IMAP .......something you need to do anyway before June 30 if you want to continue using WLM as m$ has stopped the DeltaSync Protocol from working , so WLM>Hotmail Account setting will no longer work to sync emails and the Calender. IMAP will give you synced mail again but not the Calendar.
The Mail should all still be On Outlook.com , it missing in you inbox maybe due to them upgrading the servers I mentioned above , but not sure as I have never had the whole folder disappear.
Just sign into you Hotmail account at Outlook.com and have a look, when you set WLM to IMAP it should bring it all down again....worked fine for me On Monday.
