    Rename a web address link

    I am trying to learn how to rename a web link. Using the instructions

    Here
    The instructions didn't work verbatim but with some experimenting I did manage to achieve the results you see.
    Is this a feature that has more to do with the browser than Windows 10?
    Following the same instructions I achieved better results with ubuntu 16.04/ firefox??
    Most online forums provide a tool to insert a link, this forum included, but.
    How about if I wanted to rename a web link in an email ( I use gmail )? Or if I just wanted to rename a web link and save it in my saved links in my documents?
    All help appreciated.
    My apologies if I have posted this in the wrong sub- forum.

    HTML Code:
     [url=www.website.com]my website[/url]
    HTML Code:
    will display as "my website" and when clicked will goto www.website.com

    Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately this doesn't totally answer my question.

    to rename a favorite link - just right-click and rename - just like any other shortcut..

    else, I do not understand what you are asking or trying to do..

    In Fossamail (A Thunderbird clone) I just click on Insert then Link and in the resulting popup I name the link to whatever I want then insert the link itself which shows as the name I gave it in the email body. Not sure if Gmail has the same feature but look for something like insert link or insert hyperlink.

    Thank you, Firefox does not give me that option. Which browser are you using?
