Giving up using Spartan as default in it's present state. Looks promising but it's got the same annoying quirks IE has.
Fooling around with it is fine but, it's not workin for me.
    It'll get better, (hopefully!)
I just suffered a "loss of Internet" Edwin. This problem first showed up in Build 10041 and is still there in 10049.

What I have learned works (most of the time) is to click on my Router/Internet icon in the system tray, click on disconnect and then reconnect. As I said, most of the time that works for me.

To test the issue, I restarted the computer and booted into Windows 8.1. Nary a bobble or disconnect from the Internet while using that OS. So, I can only conclude it's Builds 10041 and 10049 that cause repeated disconnects.

Add to that the fact that I cannot cut and paste; I cannot highlight and delete; I cannot add additional line spaces between sentences when I wish to revise; I can do none of the above in Spartan with any reliability.

Still, StarFerret's not ready to relinquish gathering up all of Spartan's idiosyncrasies into her hot little claws, so I guess I'll have to leave it on for a couple or three days more.

    Haven't experienced any of that!
I do keep forgetting to 'Go Advanced' just to post an attachment though!
    Another quirk is this:
I like to set 'MouseHoverDelay' to speedy but that transfers to IE, (and Spartan, apparently), making hover tips flash in front of your face like spam when scrolling through some web pages! Drives me nuts! Doesn't happen with any other browser that I'm aware of.

    Hi there

Definitely issues when you need "addins" -- SKY GO (UK SKY TV satellite TV 's Internet streaming options for subscribers) and BT sport live streams use Silverlight to "Validate" DRM video streams / subscription data.

Both applications (SKY GO and BT SPORTS) when using SPARTAN request to install or update Silverlight even though it's already installed.

IE 11 works just fine - even though both SKY and BT don't actually know anything at all about W10 -- don't bother with their totally HELP(LESS) Desks.

I made a post on this already with screenshots.

But if you missed my other post here are the screenshots again. Bottom image is IE11 with SKY SPORTS 4 stream. Other two are BT and SKY SPORTS 4 Streams using SPARTAN requesting Silverlight.

    Cheers

Because they're not yet fully supported. This is not finished, and many of the bells and whistles, like plug-ins aren't yet working.

I get stuff like that too, usually for Flash Player in IE11 if I have all filtering turned on. The thing is I haven't noticed anything yet to turn it off in Spartan. Like this: Attachment 16084

    Hi there

Understand that fully and so far Spartan performs quite fast -- but things like Subscription Internet streaming ARE important so I hope the next build comes out very quickly -- whether as an update to build 10049 or as a new build.

I'm IMPRESSED so far with the overall snapiness of build 10049 - it's getting on to where it could start competing with my Linux system -- fastest Windows OS to date. Keep going Ms and you'll bring back waverers to the fold.

@ any "Insiders" -- from what I've also seen of Office 2016 preview I really like it so any idea when proper PUBLIC previews will be available.

    Cheers

Jimbo, I think there's a public preview of Office 2016 (the .msi) version, but I'm not 100% sure, since I use Office 365 and it's not supposed to be run with a standalone version.

As a matter of info only: Office 365 is the subscription version and doesn't install from a DVD or regular download. It installs from your account on Microsoft. Office for the desktop is the .msi version and must be "installed" as per normal. There is basically no difference between the two except for licensing.

Generally, the licensing terms between the two are different. Plain Vanilla Office 2013 (which I own) is for one computer only and O365, the subscription version (which I own) has many licensing options.

Finally, for some odd reason, Microsoft has deemed that side x side installations of O365 and Office 2013 (and future upgrades) are not supported, although some folks have gotten away with it on their systems.

Even smaller footprint too after disk clean up and system compression, only using 11.6GB right now.

My point is that your internet streaming app isn't the problem. It's lack of Silverlight plug-in support that's the problem, so it's completely irrelevant to post all this stuff about your streaming app because that is not the issue.

It's like saying Oh my god, my car won't go 150 mph when it doesn't have wheels. It won't go 1 mph, much less 150. It won't even move. Wait for the wheels to be put on before complaining that your specific plug-in won't work.

If Spartan ran some Silverlight apps, but not your specific one, then it's time to be concerned.

@Mystere, the whole point of this thread is to post about how Spartan is working with whatever we try. That makes every post important, and not irrelevant. Ease up buddy
