Unable to access a particular website

    Hi to all

I am having an issue and need some help please. Earlier today I was given admin access to a website to assist with some forums there. I was told to enter my username and a password (given by site for admin access ) then enter my normal user/password details.

I did this there was a pop up to be filled I believe called iexplorer and I completed the necessary. However I got a message stating unauthorised access. When I attempted to log in as normal to the site(I use Norton to store passwords etc) I was unable to access the site, I am able to access other sites(one or two are stating my password is wrong had no issue before and norton self fills all my saved sites)with no problems.

I use IE but have tried chrome still no joy, I have cleared cache etc flushed dns no joy.

I have been able to access the website using my mobile phone roaming data away from home, but if I use my home network I am unable to connect.

    Any help is appreciated

oh I have checked Norton isn't blocking the site and it is set to allow so I am stuck

You need to talk to the person who owns the website. Most likely you need to install special Client Software for the server that they are using.

    thanks for the reply

    however unable to contact them

it would appear that something on my network is stopping me from accessing the site, if I could remove/amend that I would be fine

I'm having the exact same issue with PCGamer.com. It was working fine this morning, and now it won't load on my local network at all, no matter what browser I'm using, although it loads fine on my phone via LTE. It keeps throwing a ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED error. I've tried flushing DNS and everything as well. It's really odd.

Edit: Seems I was able to fix it by going in and manually setting my DNS servers to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

As I mentioned in my edit above, which you probably didn't see, I fixed my issue by manually setting the DNS settings to Google DNS. Now PCGamer loads up just fine in all my browsers. It's not something I'm happy about, as I'd much prefer to just use automatic settings, but it works for now.

There is nothing on your network stopping you. You need to contact the person who runs that site, to send you the link for the tools that allow you to access the server. If all websites are accessible, but you cannot get through the walled garden for the website, you will never get through it, unless you have the part that grants you access.

Go contact the person who runs it.

You need to contact the person who is running the website to contact the hosting company.
