    Disable MSN.Com Pop-Up

I hope this is the correct section to post this, here is my issue. I receive a pop-up / dialog [see attach] when my modem is off or goes off, the dialog asks which browser / program do I want to use to open with. If a browser is selected, it takes me to the msn-com homepage.

I'm confident MS simply wants me to use there homepage as well as their new browser (Edge), I also suspect this pop up effects my modem by way of disconnecting my internet connect when the computer is idle for any short period of time.

I would think it is a value in the registry that needs changed to disable this, however not certain where to look. I have asked around in other forums and thus far no one shares this same issue, wondering if any advice or insights could be given.

I thank you for your time and help.

Think this is what you are looking for
    Top right hand corner
    Click on the 3 dots
Click and scroll down to settings
    Scroll down to Advance Settings
    Click on View Advance Settings
    Show home button on
    Type in space under that
    Then click Save

Then scroll down to make sure what you want to search with
Next time should open on that page
    Also you can use IE11
By doing the first part above
But before you get to settings
    Click Open with Internet Explorer

    Is SeaMonkey your browser ?
If you select SeaMonkey > check the box "Always use this app" > click OK.

    What happens after that ?
Does it take you to Msn.com homepage ?

Yes, SeaMonkey is my primary browser. And were I too select that the browser itself would open with MSN as the homepage. It's a subtle thing but very annoying, I don't need to have a pop up if my modem goes out, and don't need one when I boot up and my modem hasn't fully employed.

I've blocked the msn homepage, however it hasn't effected this annoying pop up. It's clearly MS way of forcing their products on me, I simply don't know how to deactivate that pop up. My guess is a value in the registry needs changed, but where?

Just to make sure I understand you correctly...................

I have set SkyMonkey as your homepage and it works. Yes ?
When your modem is going out, you will get that dialog and MSN.com will popup. But that only happens when your modem is going out. Otherwise you have no issue. Yes ?

    adding............
Have you talked to your internet service provider about modem going out issue.

This is something that came with my upgrade to Win 10, I've been living with it for the past six month's or so however would love for it to go away. In my opinion it points to a value in the registry, but I don't know where, for example:

Sorry, I am not qualified to assist in registry editing.

Please wait for some one to come along.
    Good luck.
