You have a choice......which is fine by me......insulting me for MY opinion is NOT ok with me!!! You want to use Windows to make your image backups, go for it..... I do use DISM in many other cases, but NOT for Image backups. Their is nothing inaccurate about my statements......and I don't care if you agree or not.
Have a Nice day.....if you know how sir. :)
I didn't insult you, and you went further than speaking about opinions.

Yes, using one backup solution over another is personal preference; however, it is also a fact it's pointless to utilize a third party backup solution when Windows natively supports it via DISM.
    • There are a few advanced exceptions to this, such as if you require encryption, albeit if one does require encryption, it's more secure to use your own certificates or pgp keys to do so.
      • None of the advanced features that would be exceptions are offered in the Free version, and even if one purchased a licensed version, 99.99% of people would never use the advanced features not offered by Windows natively.

Not only is a third party backup solution more time consuming, it requires quite a few extra steps that lengthen the amount of time it takes from start to finish.
    • For example, one must first download the Macrium iso, and time will vary greatly depending on the speed of the user's internet connection. Once downloaded one must burn a CD, or DVD if it's over 700MB, which also varies in time depending on the speed of the writer burning the disk. Creating a USB drive also consumes time, and many users don't realize they must manually change the drive to bootable via diskpart or download yet another third party tool, like Rufus, to do so.
      • Let's also not overlook the fact if you want to apply the captured image, you're entirely dependent on the third party program, as you must use Macrium's software to do so (they may offer the ability to convert it to a VHD or WIM, which is unlikely to be offered in the free edition, and even if they did, it's yet another time consuming step). You can boot up any WinPE, WinRE, or Windows Setup disk and begin applying the image in under 30 seconds once booted.

Meanwhile... it takes no more than 30 seconds to boot into WinRE and begin the capture process, and if the system partition is under 100GB and the compress flag is set to fast or none, it's likely the capture would be completed prior to having a third party backup solution ready to boot.

It's impossible for a captured WIM or ESD to become corrupted in the capture or apply process if the checkintegrity flag is set for both, as well as the verify flag set for the capture command, so if you've experienced corruption capturing a WIM or ESD this is why.

DISM is the backbone of Windows deployment, imaging, system file parity verification, and recovery, making it one of the most dependable and reliable programs in Windows.
    • If, as you say "...is more reliable than Windows...", meaning it's [Macrium] is more reliable than DISM [Windows], Microsoft and all Windows users would have a severe problem since DISM is the only program capable of performing parity checks on WinSxS, thereby making it possible for SFC to fix system file issues.
      • Seeming as we don't have users en masse having to reinstall Windows whenever a system file becomes corrupt, I believe that demonstrates the reliability of DISM (not to mention DISM is not a new program and has been around for at least as far back as Windows 7 within the AIK)

I've performed hundreds of WIM captures via DISM, and just as many WIM applies, not once ever having had a corrupted WIM or ESD, nor have I ever come across a single thread on SpiceWorks or TechNet about an individual with a corrupted WIM after a capture. As I stated earlier, your statements lacked factual accuracy.

Mike and David did a great job at helping me. I can't thank them enough for it. My OS is running a lot more smoother and more efficiently. I have had no problems ever since they helped me with my issues.

As for Macrium Reflect, it seems to be a very popular and excellent program that is recommended by many of its users.

P.S. Let's keep this at a peaceful level.

After the creation of my new User Account, I can't find my Launch Manager. When I try to install it, it says the folder already exists and it won't let me reinstall Launch Manager from Acer.

So, my question is. How do I delete/remove/uninstall a hidden program that won't work?

Open File Explorer > click This PC > double click at your Acer C: drive >
open ( double click ) Program Files (x86) > do you see an Acer folder ? > if yes, open it and see if you can find the launch manager.

P.S. Why do you want to find the launch manager ?

I got it fixed. I had to reinstall the Launch Manager application. I use the Launch Manager application because it tells me when I have Caps lock off or on, Num lock off or on, and also other things. My computer doesn't have a caps lock light or num lock light on it like some other computers do which I see on a lot of HP's.

    Fixed

There is a known issue with IE protected mode with Windows 8 and 10. If you are capturing your wim and planning to use CopyProfile=True in your XML, you will need to delete the C:\Users\Default\AppData\LocalLow folder before you capture your profile. I haven't validated this yet, but I will update this posting once I am able to test it.

Source: Trouble with IE DOM Storage on Windows 8.1 after imaging with Deployment Toolkit 2013

Another workaround that works is to Enable Protected mode, or uncheck the Enable DOM Storage in the Internet Options.

This is located in Internet Options>Advanced Tab>Enable Enhanced Protected Mode (check) or Enable DOM Storage (uncheck). (It is 13-14 checkboxes from the bottom of the window)

Another workaround that is a little easier to script is to set the folder integrity. Throw these in a command line window and you should be good to go.

    icacls %userprofile%\Appdata\LocalLow /t /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)L
    icacls %userprofile%\Appdata\Local /t /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)L

Hello. I'm a complete computer novice, but have the same problem with IE 11 in Windows 10 not showing all pictures on a web page. It is a problem with MSN, Ebay, etc. Will show part of the first page, but leaves gray boxes for the rest. I found that opening IE 11 in an administrative mode also fixes the problem, so I've created a shortcut where I always open it as an administrator--adds one additional step, but always works. Still don't know how to fix the problem without this step.
