    Edge Question

Hi, I am new to the forums and I have no idea where to begin to ask the question or even where I should be looking in the threads, so if this has been answered previously, I am sorry to ask you to repeat the answer! I am having a problem with the "favorites bar" disappearing every time there is a change or an update to Windows 10 (i.e. when the new updates are installed). When I log back into Windows 10, my favorites bar has disappeared from the screen and I have to reset my homepage. Is this something I just have to deal with, as it is a real pain to repin my favorites bar, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for helping the newbie... Bernie

I don't use Edge so I don't know if the following will work for you....................
If your Favorites bar is missing, click the 3 dots at top right > click Settings > scroll to Fvaorites settings > click View favorites settings > click show the favorites bar.

Will that restore your favorites bar without re-setting homepage, re-pinning etc etc ?

I use Edge all the time used to use Favourites Bar but found it better and tidier to use Life at a Glance via Start
But once checked then your Bar should stay

The alternative, if you can to consider, is to go back using IE11, or 3rd party browser such as Chrome or FireFox.

IE11 can be found under All apps > Windows Accessories.
Right click at it can Pin to Start > click More and you can pin it to taskbar > click Open file location > right click at Internet Explorer > click Desktop (create shortcut) will get you a shortcut at desktop.

You might want to make sure you're syncing Edge and your system settings to OneDrive(I believe you need to be using your Microsoft Account for this). Then when you get a version upgrade or even reinstall Win10, where it says "Getting things ready" it will set everything it can back up for you.
