Sounds great, but Microsoft hasn't stopped AirSync yet, so even though it would make sense for IMAP to keep working, it's not a 100% sure yet if the change will not impact IMAP too, in a way or another.

Today should be the last day for AirSync, so let's see what happens.

Can someone send me a PM with a download link of the 17th December 2015 "d-mail.msp" re-released patch? I only have the 12th one and syncing doesn't work neither with the unpatched installation nor with the 12th one. Thanks in advance.

Many many thanks to "lgentry" who sent me the 17th December patch. Maybe I am lucky, but my hotmail account works like a charm with this version of the patch without having to use IMAP or POP configuration. I can also confirm my account has migrated to the new outlook interface and neither the 12th December patch nor the the unpatched version doesn't work with my account. I hope I'm allowed to provide mirrors: http://www.filehost.ro/3172282573/d_mail_v2_msp/ - just press the "APASATI AICI PENTRU A PORNI DOWNLOAD-UL" to download. I used this upload provider due to the fact that they never delete uploaded files.

Also, what I did was to right click my account in the left part of the WLM 2012 window, chose Properties, went to Server tab and changed the server url to "https://m.outlook.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync", then restart WLM 2012 or better reboot. I don't know if this fixed it and/or the patch itself, but you can try if you want. I'm not gonna change this anymore as it's really working like this so far.

    MILLION THANKS AGAIN TO "LGENTRY"!!!

I wanted to retry the fix to see if it works and I restored my older Windows Ghost backup image (with unpatched installation of WLM 2012) and got it working again. What I did:
    1) Have WLM 2012 installed and add your account like you would normally do and try to send/receive.
    2) First, applied 12th December (1st release) of the patch. Get it here: http://www.filehost.ro/3172282775/d_Mail_v1_msp/ - just press the "APASATI AICI PENTRU A PORNI DOWNLOAD-UL" to download.
    3) Restarted WLM 2012 and tried sending/receiving again.
    4) Now applied 17th December (2nd release) of the patch. Get it here: http://www.filehost.ro/3172282573/d_mail_v2_msp/ - just press the "APASATI AICI PENTRU A PORNI DOWNLOAD-UL" to download.
    5) Restarted WLM 2012 and tried sending/receiving again.
    6) R
ight clicked my account in the left part of the WLM 2012 window, chose Properties, went to Server tab and changed the server url to "https://m.outlook.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync", then restart WLM 2012.
    7) Deleted my account and recreated it using the basic settings, then changed the server url with the method from the previous step.
    8) Then I configured WLM 2012 to automatically send/receive every minute and left it alone.
    9) After some time (15-30 minutes), the account finally started syncing and downloading my emails from stored folders. I had over 300 emails some of them with >20MB attachments so it took a while to finish. Sometimes it would seem it freezes as it hangs at a certain email, but don't worry, just let it do its job and it will finish on its own. You may have to repeat send/receive a couple of times until it finishes syncing all folders and emails. It's very important to let it finish this process and do not stop it, do not close WLM 2012.
    10) After this, try to send an email or more to yourself and try send/receive to test if you send it and receive it successfully.
    11) Enjoy and keep your fingers crossed so you would never ever have trouble again...

You're more than welcome. Your idea of changing the server name was a good one. I really hadn't thought of that. Am glad it's working for you. I guess Microsoft just wants to steer everyone away from Live Mail and know that most users will take their announcement as gospel and go no further. I spent so many hours already playing around with it I'm going to stay with imap for the time being since it's working for me. I've saved your solution and the next device I set up for myself I'll definitely try your solution. Way to go. I just hope all those other people out there who are like you and me who love WLM won't give up on it. Everyone out there had better download and save a copy of WLE because it will get harder and harder to find later.

Yes, unfortunately big companies nowadays just force us to buy and upgrade even if it is not needed. Excuse for my off-topic, but this is the same with YouTube HTML5 (1080p lags pretty bad on older CPUs nowadays, which didn't happen few years ago), Flash Player (older versions weren't that CPU hungry), IE11 Media Source Extensions available only under Windows 8.1/10 (they could easily do this for 7 too, but they wanted us to buy the newer products), Office 2013 and Windows 8.1/10 poor font rendering which looks bad on lower DPI screens (forcing us to buy 4K displays in order to not see the bad font rendering) - this thing never happened in Windows 7 and Office 2010, UEFI/Fastboot never implemented natively on Windows 7, also Intel, nVIDIA, AMD etc. not updating drivers for older hardware (so you are forced to upgrade to a new system at a certain time)... I'm against this method of selling new stuff against your will and I always look for a solution to fix these well-planned issues. This is how I still manage to use a 2007 notebook, with pretty old hardware, under Windows 7 x86 (lite version I created myself using some online guides), with Office 2010 to have great font rendering, with older version of Chrome (which doesn't have directwrite and renders font with Windows 7 native ClearType) with NPAPI support to use VLC Plugin with ViewTube script by isebaro (to play YouTube videos with VLC in order to dramatically decrease CPU usage during playback), older AdBlock Plus extension (newer versions crash this older version of Chrome on most pages) and older Chrome Toolbox extension support to enable prompting when closing multiple tabs. If anyone interested in any of these things, please PM me, I would gladly help with these. I'm planning to make a huge tutorial with the things I have fixed for years... I hope I will have the required time to do this.

Again, please excuse me for the huge off-topic...

Glad to see another diehard sticking with WLM. In my experience all you need is the last update (your step four) and for MS to have converted your account to Outlook Mail. The server address change is unnecessary since the server is determined from your email address. You can put any address you want in for the server and it will still work. I put in (https://mail.mickeymouse.com) and it still worked. I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 14393 and all I did was install WLM 2012, enter may email address and password and then installed the latest update (allows WLM to work with ActiveSync) and everything was OK. Long live WLM.

I was wondering about the "patch" being offered everytime I Open WLM lately , I just ignore it as the Dec. patch killed WLM for me. So this one is now working?

One of my accounts has been switched to eas.outlook.com servers but the other is still using bayXXX.m.hotmail.com as seen in the Win10 Mail app but I have been using IMAP for the last 4-6 months instead in WLM.

    Thx,
