    Best free internet connection monitor

I'm having random problems with the internet connection, slowing down and failure of signal to my router. The phone line voltage is ok, I have measured it at the incoming box. I have moved the router to a better location and hope it will be more reliable and changed the filters. The connection is at 7mbs, at best, I would expect 11.6mbs, but it has been down to 2mbs at times. I use Ookla and once the ping was 970ms, today it is 27ms. I'm with SKY, and so far they can't find any specific fault.

Monitor APs and wifi clients on selected channel (Monitor Mode) - Tool for Windows

RSSI is signal strength and try to use frequency/channel, that is not used, or less used in the area.

In that case I wonder, how could moving the router do anything?

Anyway, some settings I always use, LAN or WiFi:

1, Disable DHCP and setup IP manually to keep the connection stable.
2, Setup a reliable DNS, anything but ISP. Use this to find the best:

    https://code.google.com/p/namebench

3, Uninstall all protocols, but IPv4 and IPv6 (it can not be removed).
4, Disable IPv6, but unticking it in adpater and use commands as admin:

netsh int ipv6 isatap set state disabled
netsh int teredo set state disabled
    netsh interface ipv6 6to4 set state state=disabled undoonstop=disabled
    reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters" /v "DisabledComponents" /t REG_DWORD /d "255" /f

5, Additionally, you could try TCP Optimizer

I have moved the router closer to the incoming telephone line, hopefully to reduce the number of joints in the telephone line and increase the length of cat6. Also, I can get by with fewer filters. SKY think it's the modem and are sending a replacement.
