    Google Chrome wont open


    I was helping a friend, and using my computer to work with audacity and Chrome to download an audio file. Wouldnt work, so gave up. Somehow Chrome quit working,
    I took the easy way out and did a system restore. Chrome still wouldnt open, but using Edge Audacity worked ok. So I uninstalled Chrome and tried to reinstall. Same issue. Chrome bricked. I tried Revo uninstaller, and tried to reinstall. No Luck.
    Im suspicious the Registry is messed up.
    Running Windows 10 22H2, on a DELL Optiplex 7050 core I5-6500. I have an identical machine to use to copy paste registry if that is what needs to happen.
    Is there a easy way to fix this short of a new install of Windows?
    During the attempted reinstall of Chrome, I dont get the "allow" screen.

    Please post a screenshot and provide the text (typed) of the message to save someone screen OCR'g it for search purposes.

    Meanwhile you can of course do the usual routine checks (chkdsk c: /scan, if ok SFC /SCANNOW from an admin command prompt.

    Ran both of the above cmd's, both came back ok, Tried to install Chrome, [installation failed could not verify installation(1)-3624

    going to be gone for the afternoon,

    Dont understand this "Please post a screenshot and provide the text (typed) of the message to save someone screen OCR'g it for search purposes."

    1. A screenshot is a picture of your screen.

    Post a jpg or png file which is the picture/image created of the part of the screen showing what you see thus:

    2. Where you see text in the screenshot - type it in your post.

    Honestly, Im involved with a neighbor farmer helping ready his fields for spring planting. No time to mess with this right now. Im using Firefox and or Edge and getting by ok.
    So till I have time, consider this resolved.
