Cliff, How many mail accounts to you have set up (not sure if this makes any difference)

    I have
Outlook, gmail and iCloud - set for banners and sound - receive based on usage (tried changing to as the arrive but no difference)

Personal domain account, set for no notifications and check manually - these get auto forwarded to gmail, so only manual check when i need to delete spam from account

Anyone noticed any difference since the new windows update yesterday?

Seems about the same, I have had some mail notifications (from the last few hours, it seems when I receive gmail it screws up and kills them)

Every thin still works for me Paul. I have noticed though, the new version lets us pin more stuff like trash now:) and pin the accounts to start:

tempted to do another re install of mail/calendar

although they are mostly working now

what seems to screw it up is when gmail retrieves emails from my domain (which usually have an older date stamp than my most recent email)

I don't have so much experience with email settings, but... go to gmail online and check the settings there

    Forwarding and POP/IMAP

Unfortunately googles retrieval from other emails only support POP (so it just checks every 30 mins to an hour for new)

So if I receive an email at 13:00 (direct to gmail or outlook all seems fine)
If gmail retrieves an email after that, could be dated 12:50 so older than these, then I get no notification and this seems to break notifications until I open the mail app up

I need to do more testing but this seems a pattern, I might just try adding gmail as an imap account and see if this makes a difference

Try importing Gmail to Outlook then delete Gmail from the app.: https://dub117.mail.live.com/default...imp%3fiaep%3d1

That was something I thought of, but prefer to keep it separate if possible

I have now removed all accounts from mail app (except outlook) so will see if this is more reliable, it did crash a couple of times while removing gmail

if all goes well like this, will slowly add my others to see when it starts failing

There is always the option if you have Chrome to let Gmail run in the background in thy sys tray.
