    Windows 10 Email Account Setup

Anyone using a POP account using the Windows 10 Email feature.

I like the look of the Windows Email interface and do not want to use the traditional Microsoft outlook.

Does any one have any workarounds to make this possible.

    Thanks.

Yes I had no problem setting up my Internet Provider POP account. Actually I like it because you can have your Hotmail, gmail and POP account all in one program.

    cheers

What workaround? The Mail app supports POP3 - the trick is to setup the account to use it.

If you picked Manually setup the account when you first launched Mail (first account setup) the choice was there.
Many people don't see that and the app decides what protocol to use (more and more the default is IMAP)

To set up an account after-the-fact, press the gear (settings), then select Accounts
    then + Add account
in the dialog box that opens, scroll down to Advanced setup
    Select Internet Email
When you get to the Account type, select POP3 from the drop down box

Phew that was a lot of typing

There might be a setting on the server side (I know Gmail and Outlook.com have to be configured to allow POP3)

I'm guessing that you already know the server addresses and ports.

If you need more help, ask away.
