    Need "Organize Favorites" tool

Really needs an organized favorites tool, I have a lot of bookmarks and folder in folders. Edge wants to put the individual bookmarks at the top of the Favorites list, moving folders to the top works and they stay where you've put them, but if you slip up and accidently drop a folder inside another one instead of just moving to a new spot on the list there's not an easy way to get the folder back where you wanted it to be.

I've been using it more an more just to get familiar with it, and really hoping MS gives some of these issues attention for desktop users in future updates.

Hard to believe there couldn't have been an option "desktop" or "mobile" for the browser too.

From my first very quick impressions, Edge seems to basically be 'Internet Explorer Lite'. Nice pretty big slidey controls for the children to poke their fingers at, but with most of the underlying substance removed.

Compare something as simple as a right-click in IE (somewhere around 28 options on my system) to a right-click in Edge (3 options, missing even the most vital 'Save As' and 'Save Target As'). Then compare the amount of 'Advanced Settings' choices available in each program. And there isn't even an Alt-key menu.

I totally agree with this assessment. Can't simply Right Click and create a Desktop Shortcut of the page you are currently viewing. Just goes to show you Microsoft isn't all that interested in user productivity. MS has an agenda and I still think part of that agenda is to phase out the Desktop UI. I don't really care for the new Favorites interface either.

I'm not sure what you mean. I have no problems organizing favorites. It's easy to move items between folders. Just drag it to the breadcrumb trail and drop it and it moves it to the higher level.

It's one extra step. You click on the ... in the upper right corner and "pin to start", then you can drag it from the start menu to your desktop if you want.

Thanks Mystere, from your post you knew (or guessed) what I meant, apparently I didn't have the folder exactly where it needed to be, I'm on my desktop right now and the problem folder is on my laptop. I tried moving as you described on my desktop, when you have it in the right place the word "move" appears in a small box, you let it go and the folder moves to the higher level.

In this case it was my own cockpit error causing the problem I think it's safe to say it's not the first time and it certainly won't be the last, but hey, we live and learn

That does not work. After you drop on the desktop and double click all you get is Edge with your home page. At least that's what is happening on my system.

There are 2 other workarounds for this that do work but add a step or 2 but that is not one of them.

Never-the-less, a very simple function has been removed and that makes no sense at all especially when the goal is to increase functionality.

You didn't say you wanted it to actually work

I jest, but I did not try the link and you're right. It's odd, since it works in the start menu.

You're looking it wrong. Edge is a totally new application. The feature was not "removed", it just hasn't been added yet. Do you expect a newborn baby to be able to climb mount Everest?

Will it be added at a later date?? Who's to say, maybe, maybe not but that has been a feature of the MS Browser for just about forever. Personally I would think it would be added unless it's technically not that simple. I do like the reading view and the web note feature.

Edge for me might use slightly more RAM but it's better than IE11 crashing.
