Are there any good alternatives to Macrium Reflect?

I'm just curious to what other good programs are available. Thanks!

Well, Reflect Free will continue to work until such time as MS make an OS change that breaks it. Of the alternatives, Hasleo, closely followed by Aomei seems to get mentioned most often. Long discussion here...

I read somewhere, that Macrium Reflect Free would end January 1st. Anyone else here that?

There will be no further updates for Reflect Free v8.0 after 1st January 2024. It will continue to work after that date, but if some future change MS makes in Windows breaks it, then Macrium won't fix it. The chances are slim, that hasn't happened so far. Even Reflect v6 still works.

Will future security vulnerabilities be fixed?
Yes, security patches will still be provided until 1st January 2024. After that date we will no longer provide any changes to the v8 Free code base.

Can I continue to use Macrium Reflect Free?

Yes, you can continue to use the software in perpetuity, your license to use the software is unaffected.

Paragon Backup & Recovery Community Edition

Try Paragon Backup & Recovery Community Edition Free Data Recovery software | Paragon Backup & Recovery Community Edition. May not have all the bells and whistles of MR but it's very fast and gets the job done. It even recognizes EXT4 and allows me to browse and extract files and folders from my Mint image, MR can't do that. I'm running W10 in VMware in Linux Mint for the odd Windows thing and installed Paragon in the VM and created the flash drive. Booted off the flash drive and Paragon works fine. No need to boot into full blown Windows to create the flash drive. I use it for backing up Mint.

Back up Windows to the same destination.

O&O DiskImage (German, vs Aomei - Chinese) if you've a preference.

Not a fan of paragon since they changed it from v16 onwards. Very awkward ui and they removed various things, such as exclusions. On the plus side it can create vhd backups which have advantages over proprietary formats.
