Download win 10 as a backup

Can i use the Media Creation tool to Download Windows 10 and have it handy in case my Windows 10 crashes. And if i have to re-install will it recognise my windows activation key (Digital Entitlement).
Sorry if its a stupid question but i looked at using Macrium Free as a backup but seemed a bit complicated for me.
    Thanks

Hi, the way to secure your existing installation and save having to
    - transfer your data to a clean installation
    - reinstall all your programs - with license keys of course, losing most giveaways

is indeed to use disk imaging regularly and routinely.

If you don't like Macrium, then look at Aomei Backupper. Less feature rich, but much simpler GUI.
But please, do use disk imaging unless a clean install is really simple for you - and you have, of course, a full backup of all your data.

(Hint: a disk image also acts as a full backup from which you can copy any file or folder should you wish!).

There are plenty of Youtube guides for Macrium Reflect.

    ---------------------------------------------
At any time you wish you can download any version or build of Win 10 by various means.

The Media Creation tool will give you a build close to but not necessarily the absolute latest build.

It's not really worth doing that in advance, because after each feature update (upgrade) you
    a. can't use an older build to repair it (must be the same build number)
    b. installing the older build would mean having the next feature upgrade to do as well.

Once again, you can clean re-install Win 10 on the same hardware as many times as you wish, provided nothing other than RAM or disk has been changed - activation should be automatic.

I do it with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool, download it and run it to get to the page desired. Just be sure to choose for a different computer and will have choices to get the Bootable USB Thumb drive or .iso file used to create the Bootable DVD disc.
