    Dismounting Macrium Images

I'm having a problem on two different systems dismounting Macrium images. One is running V2004 with licensed Macrium and one is running V1909 with a free copy of Macrium. Macrium is the latest version.

One thing in common are the Images are large, 200GB+, one is in excess of 400GB.

I can mount the image, I can browse the image but when I right click the drive instead on getting context menu, File Manager closes.

I have a support ticket open with Macrium but I was wondering if anyone else is having an issue with large Images.

Only AV running on both is WD. If you right click on other drives in file manager a context menu is presented.

    Thanks

    @Caledon Ken

Biggest one I have is 30GB. It mounts and unmounts no problem.

Btw, I called them about 3 months ago, to ask if that price was a lifetime price (it was), and left a message, and they called back, same day. Guy was pretty helpful.

    Thanks Ghot.

Yes very helpful people. The guy I'm working with there I've worked with before. Also an excellent forum, very knowledgeable people, well written responses.

Just raised the dismount issue in passing on forum. My real issue they are helping me with is missing files in incremental backups on one of these machines.

Just a suggestion to detach the image via Macrium? Just an alternative for now.

I've just tried it with a 464Gb Image and it's mounted and unmounted with no problem.

My paid v7.2.5107 can unmount a 233GB mounted image, as can Free on another machine.

I did have another 'File Explorer' related issue though. The Macrium-specific columns (eg Backup method) were not available as choices. That was fixed by reinstalling Macrium.

Yes, updates will be free for the lifetime of v7.x. If/when a version 8.x is released you can continue to use v7 for as long as you wish, or there will be a reduced price offer to upgrade from v7 to v8 (or at least, that's how it has worked in previous upgrades).

Well, three months ago he said...

I'm not sure why he said updates were 'free for a year'. Even the Free version will get the latest updates however long it has been installed. While technical support is for one year, v7 updates are perpetual.

I think there must be a difference between "updates" and minor updates.
I dunno. I just know what the guy said.

I didn't really care about tech support or updates. I just wanted to know if $70 got me the program for life.
