    Hi MM,
Even though I get the update automatically, I always download the installer and run it to the point of the fixes & changes, then copy & paste into the first post. This time(between xx32 & xx35) they were identical.
It might have been either just a certificate fix or something else small, but important.

    Hi:

Yes, I too always download and run the standalone installer a few days after each new version ships.
(I have auto-updates turned off -- it will still NOTIFY of a new build, but it will not automatically install it).

*Someone* shipped build 1232 (perhaps prematurely) and it took another 12 hours after a forum inquiry for them to finally announce the release of 1235.

Sadly, however, there has been a recent pattern of similar glitches with new product releases (not just MBAE).
Moreover, each product page should always include the change log for each new build (in the past, they included the full change log in their forum announcements). The product should only ship when the supporting announcements and documentation are ready.

This lack of organization, coordination and communication confuses users and damages the Malwarebytes brand.

    Cheers,
    MM

It's inconvenient for users, who now have to hunt in different sub-forum sections to look for new product announcements that may or may not even exist.}}

FWIW, this new release build does appear to be buggy.

I had no problem updating on my Win10 box, but on my Win7 desktop I got the same error as reported here:

    https://forums.malwarebytes.org/topi...long-to-start/

FWIW, for the fix, it was not necessary to reboot the computer.
I had paused MBAE protection from the system tray icon to run the installer.
So, all I had to do was to restart MBAE from the Windows start menu.
That promptly restarted the MBAE service and real-time protection.
(I have not yet rebooted either system since the MBAE upgrade to confirm if the workaround is stable or not. Nor have I yet attempted to reproduce the issue on my Win7 laptop.)

There are multiple other reports of issues at the MBAE forum, especially with users running Trusteer Rapport and IE11.
Thus far, there has been scant/if any response from MBAE devs or QA or other staffers.

    >>YMMV but, for now, one might want to consider temporarily disabling the program auto-updater (Settings tab > Automatically Upgrade to New Versions) to postpone updating to 1.09.x until some of these bugs are resolved.

    >>FWIW, the detailed changelog for 1.09.1.1235 is attached in the following 2 screen caps, as there is still no version history update at the MBAE product page or at the MBAE forum.

    HTH,
    MM

That list looks identical to the list for the previous build, which is the current release build (1235), que no?

We may have to wait until they post something more specific for this new beta version, or until it ships as a release build...

    Hi, @CliffS:

Actually, perhaps I am missing something, but that looks (again) like exactly the very same changelog they posted for the last 2 or 3 builds, including what is now the current release build and these last 2 betas?
(At least that's what I see when I compare all of them...)

So, it seems they are NOT updating the list of fixes with these recent builds, and that they keep posting the same changelog each time, and only within the GUI during the setup wizard.
(They have not posted the recent change logs in the beta forum.)
I'm not sure what's going on over at MBAE development team.
For a long time, they were quite compulsive about providing users (especially beta testers) with a clear list of changes with each new version.
Lately, they have shipped multiple builds in rapid succession with NO explanatory information.
They must be tweaking something with each new build, but it's impossible for us to know what that is.
Either that, or I am misreading all those fix lists.

The lack of attention to detail is disappointing and degrades confidence in the product.

I think it's like you say, "tweaking".
Because now Edge doesn't crash or take too long to open on Insider builds like it used to(for example).
