The only ones I get are from supposed Microsoft Support (or is this the same)

I just go along with them and they eventually hang up when I start questioning them
That's mostly what I get .. most of the time I just don't answer if I don't know the number.

    Try asking them a question.

**Do you know you have called a Police Station**

Hopefully that will get your phone number off their call list.

I would ask them if they really want access to my system, because, I'm running Kali Linux.

The Kali Linux penetration testing platform contains a vast array of tools and utilities, from information gathering to final reporting, that enable security and IT professionals to assess the security of their systems.

I usually go along with them when they ask me to do something and come across all confused when I cant follow there instructions

after a few mins of them explaining I say my main computer is an ipad and could that be why the instructions don't work

With payroll in arrears, online antivirus seller shuts doors

Looks like they didn't survive the story that blew the lid off...

EZ Tech Support, based in Portland, Oregon, took calls from people who had advertising software installed on their computers that warned of possible security and performance problems. The programs implored people to call the company’s number, which was displayed amid warnings.

The company stopped taking calls earlier this week, according to two former EZ Tech Support employees. Contacted by email, its general manager, Gavynn Wells, said he was no longer worked there and was “unclear as to the direction the company will be going into.”

EZ Tech Support’s shutdown came shortly before the IDG News Service published a story on its operations earlier this week.

It'll pop-up next week under a different name most likely.

Interesting read. I wonder just how many people actually fall for it and pay.

Unfortunately, that's probably a true statement.

I wish I would get one of these scam calls for once. As I run linux primarily I would love to see how long I could keep them on the phone, wasting their time ultimately.
