    MBAR cannot detect HPReyos

Hi guys I need help with removing the folder named "HPReyos" in %APPDATA%, I tried deleting it and it just says it's being used by a program or something so windows couldn't delete it.

I've also seen a program named "HPReyos" in Add/Remove programs, but because I'm cautious I didn't open it because I don't want any more malware entering my computer.

Downloaded MBAR, did a full scan but MBAR said that my computer is free of Rootkits and stuff and I'm not very sure about that.

I did a refresh on FireFox to remove the disturbing homepage that the virus is forcing to be the default one but everytime I restart my PC the website just comes back.

    Those are just my problems.

    Hi.
Please run these tools, in this order, and post the logs:

    RKILL

    ADWCleaner

    RKILL again

TDSSKiller (select all boxes, it will want to reboot so it can scan properly)

    RKILL again

    JRT

    Malwarebytes Antimalware Free

(Please enable ROOTKIT scanning in the setting before running the Custom scan.)

    Reset Firefox.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi

I used UnHackMe with Full and Rootkit scan active and it removed every files the virus has infected. It deleted FireFox but that's fine for me :)

Thank you for the suggestions simrick, I will use these steps if I encounter another virus in my computer.

    That's good news.
I would still do the ADWCleaner and JRT just to be sure everything has been ferreted out.
