Lizzy, I can't find anything in the manual about how to boot from a USB thumb drive, only from a DVD. Let's hold off on verifying the Rescue Media until we find out. I'll ask around.

I know you don't have much time right now, but there is one important thing you can do.

When you recreated your backup definition file last night, you forgot to include VERIFY. You need to go into Macrium, edit the definition. And you need to VERIFY the backup you did. Do the edit first, then I'll show you how to verify. OK?

Windows 10 - How to boot the system from USB drive/CD-ROM?

Is this what you're looking for. Looks pretty complicated to me!!

Yes. Then FINISH and the rest like you would normally do to close it out. Than attach you Touro and post back you are ready.

This is the data from my computer, so yours will look different, the file names. Open Macrium and click Restore. You should get the screen like mine. There should be the file you backed up last night. If it also shows the original, make sure the file from last night is highlighted by clicking on it. Click VERIFY IMAGE, then in next screen click VERIFY. It will take about 15 minutes. Post back a screenshot of the results.

Nervous? Nah, you did great! I was real close when I said 15 minutes. That's about the time to add to the backup from now on, so instead of 20 mins, it's 35 mins. We could probably shrink that a little, but I don't want to change any more settings right now.

I've gotta ask this question, because I never got an answer... are you using the EJECT function to eject the Touro BEFORE you pull the plug?
