    Quick Scan is Anything But


    On one of my machines, running the latest version of W 10, Windows Defender keeps telling that a quick scan is due......however the scan is anything but quick, the last scan was running for well over an hour, before I cancelled it.......on my other three machines the scan lasts maybe ten minutes before completing.......is there anything I can do ?......

    Its worth checking the disk for errors if there is errors the scan will strugle

    Thank you......I've reinstalled W10, from a USB Flash Drive, and it seems to have cured the problem......well for now anyway.......

    Had you been regularly using Disk cleanup [CleanMgr] to reduce the amount of clutter on the disk?

    No, I must admit I've never used Disk Cleanup......I do however use Glary Utilities fairly often, to get rid of any junk......it seems to work quite well......

    Disk clean has been replaced by storage space as that can be run automatically
