My brother runs MBAM on his PCs. All PCs have a number of exclusions.
The PCs are refreshed each year (clean install).
I don't tun MBAM myself.
Anyone know how to backup and restore exclusions?
You can not. All exclusions need to be done all over again.Anyone know how to backup and restore exclusions?
Also, remember to deactivate the program as well before formatting the computer.

I was fearing that. Everything I read suggested that mught be the case, but sometimes people here have more knowledge that what you read elsewhere. It was worth a try.
Yes, I always deactivate the licenses :)
Oh well, 4-5 hours of work every time. And we have to remember once we've added them to take screen caps of them so that 12 months later when Windows is updated we know what to add back. Of course, that doesn't account for anything added in the interim. Such fun :)

Now I see what you are looking to do.
No, MBAM, Norton and many others do not have a settings export facility to import on another system.
This is by poor design. I too, have been asking for this for many years. It's not that difficult to implement.
Best way now is with screen captures, sad to say.
Yes, a PITA. Screen caps will get me the details, but I still have to enter them manually, one at a time on 10 PCs. Not very efficient.
I did see a post on MBAM forum where they said they can't imagine a "use case" for such a feature. A little naive and quite an uninformaed point of view IMHO.
I imagine that you know that, if you were using Defender instead, you'd you able to do what you wanted.
In both Windows 10 & Windows 11, I backup my Defender exclusions on one computer and restore them to that & to my other computers.

Indeed. Not my computers though.
Some companies are simply so techy-techy that their attitude is that "real programmers" don't need this feature. I have worked at companies where I have encountered this attitude. It's like you have to "work" to "deserve" the right to use a feature.
To me, that's putting your head up the end point of your digestive tract.
