    Windows Defender

    For the first few days after loading Win 10, defender wasn't available to me for some reason. Last week it became available after an update. I ran a quick scan and all was fine. Today I ran a full scan and it found this;
    "Container file:D:\preload\base.wimfile:\preload\base.wim->(Image4905)ProgramFiles(x86)\HPGames\PolarGolfer\golf-WT.exe(EXEEmb)->(EXEEmb)"

    Defender identified this as a Trojan. Did this come with Win 10 upload? I supposedly did a clean install.

    I had win 7 before and deleted all the HP games, should this be done again?

    Looks to me like it came from HP. And your laptop is an HP so one of the many bloat wares they've thoughtfully included for you.

    When I was using win 7 to conserve space I deleted all the games that came with this computer, and now I downloaded win 10 and these games came back...so if I had an Acer for example, these wouldn't be included in the download for win10? Yes I'm a 65 year old nube.

    Thanks for the response.

    Run the Free version of Malwarebytes to get a second opinion on the Trojan. When you download uncheck the trial premium version and just download the free version.

    I am guessing the games came back because they were part of the recovery file of Win7 and were reinstated with the Win10 upgrade. So you can delete them again. You may want to try Iobit Uninstaller to make it easier and also delete any other unwanted programs.

    Thank you, I've already done so with both of the mentioned programs.
