Though it has problems at the moment I do think it is a great AV and have used it for many years, Just hope they do not let me down and come up with a speedy fix for the limitations. Maybe MR1 update which is beta testing?

I queried the Windows 10 support provided by KIS 2016 with Kaspersky Support and received the following reply:

"Our Moscow HQ has informed us that patch C in fact provided 100% compatibility for Kaspersky in a Windows 10 environment. Therefore, if you have patch C already installed as you inform us, then full compatibility for Windows 10 has been achieved."

The User Guide still states the Windows 10 limitations so perhaps it is out of date?

    Interesting

Looking on Kaspersky website on these two post http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php...&#entry2501119 and http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php...&#entry2501134

    it says

    QUOTE(testuserxperia @ 13.11.2015 15:23)
I would like to know if KIS 2016 is completely compatible with Windows 10 or if the limitations are still there

Right know (thank to patch C), Kaspersky is full compatible and working under Windows 10.
    BUT!
Please be aware that in a couple of days Microsoft will release a huge Update that will change a lot in the system.
After the update some of the functionalities of Kaspersky will be limited again, as in the "before-patch-c" enviroment. Do not worry, the program will work and protect you and our developers will release as soon as possible a "reply-update" that will restore the full functionality and compatibility with Windows 10

    And

I am not 100% sure, but the product should work with the some of following limitations:

If Device Guard is enabled in Windows 10 settings, the Network Attack Blocker component will be unavailable in the product, and the following features will work with restrictions:
Heuristic Analysis feature (emulates running suspicious files).
    Delayed disinfection on reboot.
    Protection against screen lockers.
    Protection against cryptoviruses.
    System memory scan.

    Please note:
Patches and updates will not provide full functionality of the product on Windows 10 if Device Guard is enabled.
Kaspersky Lab products do not support Microsoft Edge.
The product is not compatible with mobile versions of Windows 10.

So maybe if device guard is not activated it runs as it would in windows 8.1 ?? I'm not 100% sure myself.
(And device guard would probably stop all anti virus programmes doing a full and complete job)

I've just had a look at this Kaspersky Forum post and it seems Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) 2016 is not yet providing full protection with the latest Windows 10 update and no firm estimate of when a patch will be provided has been given.

Is it safer just to use Windows Defender in the meantime or is KIS 2016 with its current limitations superior to Defender?

Just for info, I tried to run Kaspersky Online Scanner last night on 10586/1511. Received following:

    "Operating System Not Supported"

I am a Kaspersky user but not have reinstalled on the last two builds.

KIS 2016 on my Windows 8.1 PC was updated to 16.0.0.614(d) today. I can't any release notes yet to advise whether this update now provides full Windows 10 functionality. Does anyone know?
